Terms of Service
Last updated 22 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Cornelia Cove LLC, a New York limited liability company that publishes Coffee Break (“Coffee Break”, “we”, “us”), for using the Coffee Break: Daily Puzzles app. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
The app
Coffee Break gives you a set of quick daily puzzles, plus more boards to play any time. The app is free. You can play without an account; a free account adds leaderboards, friends and streaks that follow you to other devices and to the Coffee Break websites that offer sign-in.
Who can use it
You need to be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it to use an app like this on your own.
Your account
Keep your sign-in to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You’re responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account.
Usernames and how you treat other players
Your username shows on public leaderboards and to other players. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive players. Don’t pick a username, or do anything in the app, that:
- is hateful, harassing, threatening or bullying, or attacks people for who they are;
- is sexual, violent or obscene;
- pretends to be someone else, or misleads people about who you are;
- shares anyone’s personal information, including your own;
- advertises, spams or links to anything.
If you break these rules, we may change or remove your username, remove your results from leaderboards, and suspend or delete your account, without notice.
How we moderate names. The app hides other players’ names that contain words from a list of slurs and sexual or violent insults, and shows them as “Name hidden”. It refuses those words, and a few more, when you pick your own username. No list catches everything, so you can report any name yourself, and we review every report.
Reporting a player
To report a player, tap the … beside their name on a leaderboard or in Friends (or press and hold the name) and choose Report player. Pick the reason (an inappropriate name, a suspicious time, or something else), add a line if you like, and send it. If the report can’t be sent from the app, the app offers an email to us with the name filled in. You can also email hello@coffeebreak.gg with the name and where you saw it.
We review every report within 24 hours and remove names and players that break these rules.
To stop seeing a player yourself, tap the … beside their name (or press and hold it) and choose Hide this player. You can show them again in Me → Settings → Hidden players.
Fair play
Play the puzzles yourself. Don’t use bots, scripts or other tools to solve puzzles or post times, and don’t try to break or overload the app or our servers. We may remove times that don’t look humanly possible, and accounts that keep posting them.
Our puzzles and the app
The puzzles, the app and their design belong to us or the people who license them to us. You may use the app for your own, non-commercial enjoyment. Please don’t copy, resell or redistribute the puzzles or the app.
Changes and availability
We’re always improving Coffee Break, so features and puzzles may change, and the app may sometimes be unavailable. We may update these terms; when we do, we’ll change the date above, and if the change is important we’ll tell you in the app. If you keep using the app after a change, the new terms apply.
Ending your account
You can stop using the app at any time, and delete your account in Me → Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms.
No warranty
We work hard to keep Coffee Break running well, but the app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, streaks or results, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can’t be limited.
Disputes
If something goes wrong, please email us first and we’ll try to sort it out.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Any dispute that we can’t resolve informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts. These terms don’t take away any rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
The App Store
If you got the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why.
